The Santa Barbara Airport is committed to ensuring that people with disabilities are able to take part in, and benefit from, the whole range of public programs, services, and activities offered by the Airport. The Airport continues to modify its facilities, programs, policies, or practices, as necessary, to ensure such access is provided.

In accordance with the requirements of title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 ("ADA"), the Santa Barbara Airport will not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities on the basis of disability in its services, programs, or activities.

Employment

The Santa Barbara Airport does not discriminate on the basis of disability in its hiring or employment practices and complies with all regulations promulgated by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission under title I of the ADA.

Effective Communication

The Santa Barbara Airport will generally, upon request, provide appropriate aids and services leading to effective communication for qualified persons with disabilities so they can participate equally in Santa Barbara Airport’s programs, services, and activities, including qualified sign language interpreters, documents in Braille, and other ways of making information and communications accessible to people who have speech, hearing, or vision impairments.

Modifications to Policies and Procedures

The Santa Barbara Airport will make all reasonable modifications to policies and programs to ensure that people with disabilities have an equal opportunity to enjoy all of its programs, services, and activities. For example, individuals with service animals are welcomed in Santa Barbara Airport offices, even where pets are generally prohibited.

If you need special aids, services, or staff assistance in order to gain access to, comment at, or participate in an Airport facility, meeting, program, service, or activity, please contact the ADA liaison. If possible, notification at least 48 hours in advance of the need for assistance will enable the Airport to make reasonable arrangements in most cases.

The Santa Barbara Airport is a department of the City of Santa Barbara.
