SBA Offers Travel Tips For The Labor Day Holiday

SANTA BARBARA, CA -  Santa Barbara Airport (SBA) anticipates a busier-than-normal travel period from Thursday, September 2 through Tuesday, September 7 during the Labor Day holiday weekend.  More than 15,000 passengers traveled through SBA during the same time period in 2009 with the busiest travel days being the Friday before and Monday of Labor Day.  For the latest travel tips and security requirements, log on to http://www.flysba.com/travel_info/travel_tips

PLAN AHEAD
Passengers and visitors are encouraged to plan ahead and give themselves 90 minutes to two hours to find parking, check their luggage and go through the security checkpoint to ensure they are at their gate in time for their flight.  A Goleta Sanitary District sewer main replacement project is underway on south Fairview Avenue between the Airline Terminal and Hollister Avenue causing brief delays.  Travelers are advised to use highway 217 when traveling from the south to avoid the construction.  Those passengers driving to the Airport from the north and wishing to park their vehicles are advised to use the Fairview Avenue exit and park in Long Term Parking Lot 2 for complimentary shuttle transport to the Airline Terminal.
